The Life of Riley - Active holidays in the Sierras of Southern Spain
The Life of Riley offers walking, scrambling and trekking holidays in the sierras surrounding the Alpujarra. Run by the internationally qualified British mountain guide, Martin Riley we offer a wide range of activities in a number of areas all within easy access of our base in the spa town of Lanjaron, the gateway to the Alpujarra
The Alpujarra itself has great low level walking through its historic landscape. Dotted with white villages and Moorish ruins linked by pack horse trails walking here is relaxed and restful.
Above in the Sierra Nevada the high peaks offer tougher ascents including the highest point in mainland Spain, Mulhacen 3,482m. In these mountains our clients can enjoy high level, non technical walking and trekking with the chance to stay in a mountain refuges as part of multi day treks.
Further afield we have easy access to limestone peaks and deep gorges in the Axarquia range inland of the Mediterranean resorts of Nerja and Almunecar. North of Granada the Sierra de Huetor gives great walks through a habitat of Mediterranean forest and scrambling on limestone ridges.
From half day walks for individuals through to week long holidays for groups we can provide bespoke holidays and activities to suit you interests and level of fitness.
