Self-led holidays can start on any date and of variable duration. We provide accommodation and meticulous route information for Inn-to-Inn treks , fixed centre or city breaks.

The Alpujarra is dotted with villages of unique architecture separated by deep gorges, broad valleys, mountains and rivers, they  add a great  attraction to the landscape and  provide excellent bases for those with an interest in the great outdoors. The natural history is varied and whatever your interest we will probably be able to show you to the  likely habitats in which your "prey" may root, browse,flutter or slither.

The walking. Publicity about the Alpujarra  concentrates on the size, height and snowy peaks of the Sierra Nevada but the reality for most people is that most time is spent walking in the lower areas valley to valley, village to village. Gradients are generally reasonable, most routes being based on old mule trails. You should be prepared for some more demanding steep sections and some rough, stony paths.

The hotels used are tried and tested, walkalpujarra has a long standing and good relation with the owners, so that our guests are comfortable and well appreciated. They vary in style from 3* hotels to village inns and pensions.
